Erupting Volcanoes

What great fun we had today making exploding volcanoes!

First we made some dough out of flour and water. We used a yoghurt pot as our magma chamber and built up our volcano around it with the dough. 












Here are our finished volcanoes. 




Next we put in some bicarbonate of soda mixed with red paint into the top of our volcanoes. We added some vinegar and watched the materials react to create an amazing lava eruption.
